Power Grid Field Engineer (Electrical & Civil) Recruitment

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a leading Central Public Sector Enterprise, has issued an official recruitment notification for 40 Field Engineer positions. These contractual roles are specifically for its Consultancy Project involving the Comprehensive Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Scheme located in Arunachal Pradesh under the North Eastern Region. Out of the total openings, 25 are designated for Field Engineer (Electrical) and 15 for Field Engineer (Civil). Appointed candidates will receive a competitive pay scale of ₹30,000–₹1,20,000 with a starting basic pay of ₹30,000 per month, supplemented by Industrial Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other statutory perks equal to 35% of the basic pay. Furthermore, candidates will earn a 3% annual increment upon completion of each year of service.

To qualify for these positions, applicants must possess a full-time engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg.) in Electrical or Civil discipline with at least 55% aggregate marks, along with one year of post-qualification professional experience in distribution systems, sub-transmission, or substation commissioning. Candidates should not exceed 29 years of age as of September 5, 2026, though statutory age relaxations apply for reserved categories. The selection procedure relies primarily on a personal interview, with an optional 75-question screening test conducted to shortlist candidates if necessary.
